Some of you may well be old enough to remember the game of Truth or Dare, where you were asked a question and you had to either tell the truth, or take the dare. The dare was determined by others, and if you didn't do it, you were out of the game.
Well, it's time for the IRS to either tell the truth or take the dare. This week hasn't even gotten started until they are once again in trouble as scandal after scandal is revealed. This time, it's not just targeting, but it's giving away money to fraudulent sources. The word is quickly spreading that the IRS issued a total of 23,994 refunds to one Atlanta address totaling $46 million. When questioned about the refunds, IRS auditors said the agency eliminated some methods employees had used to figure out questionable refund requests and doesn’t have the right training or tools to screen out bogus identity documents when immigrants apply for taxpayer numbers.
To that answer, I say it's a bunch of hooey. Every system that is used in documenting data, especially when placing addresses, checks, and names into it, will give a warning that lets the user know that name, address, or check number has already been used. You have to either give it the okay to continue, or change something in the address, name, or check by even one number or letter. So, the excuse that the methods were eliminated is garbage and a lie. The Washington Times article also stated that IRS superviors ignored employees who tried to warn agency higher-ups of the fraud.
If that's not bad enough, according to the same article, The IRS pays out $6.8 billion in refunds to taxpayers who file using Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs). They generally are immigrants, here both legally and illegally. The potential amount of fraud was not stated, but the investigators detailed seven schemes that paid out $9 million in tax refunds in 2011.
Not only that, but it was also reported that the IRS was giving tax credits to illegal immigrants. The reports and testimony noted that claims for additional child tax credits by those holding ITIN cards had increased significantly, jumping from $924 million in 2005 to $4.2 billion in 2011.
So, think about it, all of these cases deal with illegal immigrants. Who did the Democrats and the White House target for votes pre-2012? Remember, "poop" runs downhill, so it had to start from the top. Now the House and Senate are voting on the so-called "immigration Bill", and they are talking about voting on it before they have even read it. Well, remember the "Obamacare" Bill, in the words of Nancy Pelosi, "We have to vote for it, before we can see what's in it." How did that work out for you? Word is, that like the Healthcare Bill, it is so full of pork that it squeels "soouuiiee". Get ready to pay more out of your paycheck and find less in your pocket.
The IRS is out of hand and has too much power. Remember, "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts
absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men." Lord Acton, a British historian 1887
