The Moral Fiber of a Country

Last February, as I logged on to my AOL account, an article I saw about a thirteen-year-old boy who was to have fathered a child born to a girl fifteen-years-old in Great Britain really caught my attention. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article2238252.ece 
I noticed one of the comments made by an official in that country was loosely, "What has happened to the moral fiber of Great Britain?"

What moral fiber? And, it's not just in Great Britain, it's everywhere. Now, why is this, so-called "moral fiber" breakdown happening? Duh! You have to know the word, moral, in order to understand its concept, and too many people these days have no clue. Children repeat what they hear, and they do what they see. Little twelve-year-old Alfie, according to the article, lived with and saw the actions of a very immoral mother, therefore, his actions were immoral with no shame. Morality is taught in the home, and fifty years ago, people actually went to the best school of morality--church.

When the children of Israel became immoral and began worshiping their man-made idols, rather than worshiping the God who actually created them, that is when their world began to fall apart. God then told them why through prophets, who proved over and over during that time that, yes, God did exist.

King Nebakanezer of Babylon, knew God existed; however, it took being struck insane by the great I AM and made to wander outside the city acting like a dog for him to realize God is real. The good Lord offered up laws for people to follow; these laws were moral laws that stood then and still stand today, Hebrews 13: 8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.

The Bible teaches everything from how to raise your children to how to have a great marriage, if people would just read it and adhere to it. I have heard friends who have not seen the inside of a church for years, or the only time they seem to go is on special holidays such as Christmas and Easter, but yet, they try to tell me how to have a relationship with God.

The only way to teach morality is to live it, and that warped since that comes from watching a "boob tube" in the corner of the room and developing idols and role models like Madonna and Amy Winehouse, is not the way. That British official was correct when he said, "the people of Great Britain have no sense of right or wrong," so how do we expect them to behave?

I look at our president and senators who push abortion and gay marriage, and ask, "where is the morality in that type of behavior?" That was the type of behavior that placed the Israelites into exile. Now this same administration is forcing us further and further into a socialistic and soon to be Communistic society that will not allow us to even breathe the word God, much less worship him. Then where is that going to leave us. Advancing or regressing? Will Christians soon be drawing the sign of the fish in the dirt in order to know that the one he speaks with is a Christian? Will we have to commune in the cover of darkness in order to follow the Light?

And we wonder what has happened to the moral-fiber of America. Step back and think about it. When was the last time you actually picked up a Bible and truly read it, much less acted on it?
